It was a great pleasure connecting in beautiful Lisbon—a city that has always set its sights on wider horizons.
Centuries ago, ships sailed from this port outbound to the Americas, driven by discovery, opportunities and new frontiers.
Times have changed. In March 2027, we invite you to cross the ocean to Chile—by plane this time, and with a very different treasure in mind. You won’t be searching for gold, instead for world – class knowledge, innovation, networking and the latest breakthroughs in regional anesthesia and pain medicine.
From March 10th to 13th, Chile will host the 7th World Congress of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. Organized by LASRA and proudly supported by our sister societies across the globe — AFSRA, ASRA, AOSRA, and ESRA — this congress is the result of a truly collaborative international effort. We have built an exceptional program featuring the industry’s most influential experts. You will have the unique chance to engage directly with those who have shaped, and continue developing the history of our specialty. The pioneers behind the landmark techniques, textbooks, and key literature will all be there.
Beyond core acute and chronic pain management, the scientific agenda will explore expanding subspecialties — focusing heavily on how point-of-care ultrasound enhances clinical judgment and patient safety, from emergency settings to elective procedures. Innovation, technology, and high-yield education take center stage. True to our global mission, we will also tackle critical conversations around access, clinical challenges, and cultural nuances in daily practice.
The lineup is packed with practical learning: hands-on workshops, targeted training tracks for POCUS (basic and advanced), pediatric pain management, cadaveric workshops, and interventional sessions designed to sharpen your decision-making and image interpretation skills. Moreover, accepted abstracts will be published in the Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine (RAPM) journal, and we are in the process to have the ESRA Diploma (EDRA Parts I and IIB) in Santiago.
At its core, this congress is clinically driven to ensure you leave with practical tools that directly elevate patient care. But even more than that, it is about community—connecting, sharing ideas, and shaping the future of medicine together.
Latin America is ready to welcome you with open arms, world-class science, and an unforgettable experience. Join us for the science and stay for the connections—discover Chile, a country full of cultural and geographic richness, offering diversity from the Atacama Desert in the north to the Patagonian glaciers in the southern extreme of the globe, along with thousands of kilometers of stunning landscapes and a wide range of tourism options that make it one of the world’s preferred travel destinations.
The congress will take place in a privileged venue in Santiago at the Centroparque Convention Center in Araucano Park, one of the most lively and developed areas of the city, surrounded by nature with the Andes Mountains always in view.
Santiago also offers an extensive selection of restaurants and nightlife, giving you the chance to experience local seafood, Chilean wines, and the famous Pisco Sour — so from Lisbon to Santiago!
You are most welcomed in Chile March 2027.
