Regional Analgesia for Complex Spine Surgery

Date: Tuesday, 24th November 2026
Time: 7pm CET | Duration: 60min

Presentation:

  • “Regional Analgesia for Complex Spine Surgery” by Dr. Juan Carlos de la Cuadra Fontaine

Webinar Description

Spine surgery presents significant challenges for postoperative pain management due to its complex innervation and the multiple anatomical structures involved.

This webinar will explore the role of ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques in spine surgery, focusing on interfascial plane blocks, including the erector spinae plane (ESP), thoracolumbar interfascial plane (TLIP), and retrolaminar blocks.

Through anatomical considerations, current clinical evidence, and practical insights, we will critically examine their mechanisms of action, analgesic efficacy, limitations, and potential advantages in different surgical scenarios.

Special attention will be given to the challenges of achieving reliable analgesia in complex spine procedures and the importance of integrating regional techniques into a comprehensive multimodal analgesic strategy.
