The 6th World congress on Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine is coming back to Europe!
In 2022, the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy (ESRA) celebrated its 40th Anniversary since its establishment. Following the great success in Thessaloniki – Greece last June, during our first kick-off, face-to-face meeting since the pandemic, we have again the immense privilege and ultimate pleasure to invite you to Paris, for the 6th World congress on Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Medicine (WcRAPM), hosted by ESRA this time.
Bringing together our continental Sister Societies, the American Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA Pain Medicine), the Latin American Society of Regional Anaesthesia (LASRA), the Asian & Oceanic Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine (AOSRA – PM), and the African Society of Regional Anaesthesia (AFSRA), this event will be a Joint Meeting, held simultaneously with the 40th ESRA Annual congress. Another wonderful gathering has been planned and is scheduled to take place on 6th to 9th September, 2023, at Palais des congrès de Paris – ViPARiS, an iconic building and vast venue, just a few steps away from the most beautiful avenue in the world.

The Congress Scientific and Local Organizing Committees, embraced and supported by an extensive International Experts Group, have built an amazing Scientific Program for both young and experienced Delegates, with the substantial input and fruitful collaboration of the Five Continental RA and Pain Medicine Sister Societies (ESRA, ASRA Pain Medicine, LASRA, AFSRA, AOSRA – PM). Altogether, striving to serve the needs of our community, have aimed to enlighten and engage you within a comprehensive and high-quality Scientific Program, fully packed with the most groundbreaking scientific achievements and evidence-based practice recommendations, delivered by more than 200 well-respected international experts and KOL, as well as the rising stars of the future, all serving on our faculty team.
Joining together an audience of more than 3.000 participants, with a representation from more than 100 countries from all over the world, this is Your opportunity in 2023 to network, as well as to share and underpin the latest updates, advancements and leading–edge research and innovation across the spectrum of Regional Anaesthesia (RA), Perioperative care, PocUS, as well as Acute Postoperative & chronic Pain Management.

Traditionally, the ESRA Annual Congress is included amongst the most influential Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine platforms for clinicians, researchers, scientists and industry representatives from all over the world, with its high scientific standard being recognized and highly rated by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. In 2023, via one Global Educational Event under the responsibility of ESRA, our common goal is to provide multiple education opportunities, disseminated across all 5 continents. In this context, the Focus of the WCRAPM 2023 will be to drive conversation and interactivity, deepen collaboration, accelerate promotion of science and networking, and encourage knowledge sharing, via state-of-the-art presentations on our fields, as well as by highlighting new insights into basic science, clinical research and therapeutic interventions.
This Meeting Format will again encourage an active interplay in between faculty and delegates, framed by your input, commitment and pro-action. Accordingly, the Scientific Program will comprise of:
In addition, the 2023 WCRAPM will deliver multiple exciting learning opportunities specifically designed for Residents, Trainees and Fellows, including but not limited to Free Papers and ePosters Sessions. All are cordially invited to submit their work for inclusion in the Best Free Paper and Best E–Poster Abstract Award Competitions on RA and Chronic Pain Management, as well as in the Best RA, Pain Medicine and PoCUS Video Contest. Moreover, a busy large exhibition area will be available, not only for ePosters viewing & discussion, but also for the presentation of latest innovations from our industry supporters. Finally, written and oral exams of the well–established EDRA and EDPM ESRA Diplomas will take place in parallel with the congress main scientific program, or as a pre-congress activity. Last but not least, a variety of social activities and unique networking events will be organized, such as the Congress Opening Ceremony & Welcome Session, followed by an exceptional Networking Reception, the Networking on The Run (well known as FUN run), the Trainees & Diplomates Reception, the Annual Networking Dinner & Celebration, and the Farewell Reception at the end of the congress, all befitting in Paris, our ideal location.
